◼️OCTOBER 8th, 2022 – EXPOMOVE – In collaboration with AIMS. The conference on “Sustainable mobility and local development: the case of non-scheduled local public transport” to which Aims has guaranteed its collaboration ended in Florence. On the shared day, Aims, through its head of Institutional Affairs prof. Luigi Troiani, moderated the debate, which was attended by representatives of public institutions most connected to the problems of local non-scheduled public transport. The current political situation has not allowed the presence of representatives and exponents of the Italian parliament. The debate confirmed the extreme importance of non-scheduled local public mobility, highlighting once again how the renunciation of the outgoing government and parliament to regulate the matter in compliance with the principles of competition, freedom and establishment sanctioned by the internal market, serious and unjustified damage to the economy and employment as well as penalizing the quality of local public services not on the line with damage caused to citizens and tourists.

Concluding text of the conference that Asstra, the local public transport association, held in Rome on 13-14 December 2021. The document sets the position of public transport on sustainable mobility. In the debate, the concept of public-private harmonization and integration and of a global and interconnected vision of the means of urban mobility is often echoed. In the view of the leaders of the association and the experts who took part, city traffic will eventually belong exclusively to pedestrians, cyclists, electric vehicles, especially if public. Aims has followed the proceedings with interest, hoping that his voice can be heard in an upcoming edition of the authoritative conference.
